07 March 2024

Funchal, Portugal – February 2024 - The Art&Sal Theatre Company, of the Salesian Youth Centre in Funchal, promoted a formation and coexistence meeting held from 16 to 18 February at the Cristo Rei, in Ponta do Sol, on the island of Madeira. The event brought together about 45 participants, including young people and coordinators, who, during a weekend, were challenged to reflect on their identity as Christians and their faith. During the days there was no lack of moments of prayer and conviviality, essential for encouraging and strengthening ties within the group, creating an awareness of the family, unity in faith and trust in Christ. The Art&Sal Theatre Company was founded in 2013 and is the result of the goodwill of the coordinators of plastic arts and painting, choir, dance and theatre groups, formed by adolescents, young adults and some adults in the Salesian presence in Funchal. Art&Sal is part of the activities of Salesians' Youth Ministry and its objectives are to form "Good Christians and upright citizens", to promote youthful activity through optimism, joy, kindness, social commitment, a sense of church, and charity as a service.
