Cambados, Spain – November 2023 – The Salesian school in Cambados, Spain, has concluded celebrations for the 75th anniversary of its foundation, organising a large event for students, parents, teachers and distinguished guests, on the feast day of Saint Cecilia. The Mayor of Cambados, Samuel Lago, also spoke on the occasion, encouraging students to take the opportunity to study and train as exemplary citizens in this institution, which for 75 years has been a point of reference and of importance in the city. Also present at the event was school Principal, Fr Luis García Quijano, who paid tribute to the anniversary by referring to the book "75 years of Salesian presence in Cambados", by Ildefonso García Nebreda. During the event, some past pupils told original anecdotes of when they studied at the school and a video with important historical images was projected. Finally, the second part of the evening was dedicated to the patron saint of music, Santa Cecilia, with numerous musical performances, including those of the "Serantellos" group, the school band and the singers directed by the Salesian Herme González.
