Los Teques, Venezuela – November 2023 – The first Vocational Discernment meeting 2023-2024 took place on 10, 11 and 12 November in the city of Los Teques. Thirty-six young people from different Salesian works in the country (Valencia, Valera, Los Teques, Táriba, Caracas, Punto Fijo, Barinas) and from some diocesan parishes (Valencia and Puerto Pírit) participated in this experience. Similar meetings aim to provide young people with the tools for vocational discernment, while enriching the accompaniment offered in local Salesian communities and promoting the experience of youth volunteering. The Commission for Vocational Animation and the Commission for Volunteering and the Mission of Salesian Youth Ministry in Venezuela, directed by Fr Juan Luis Arveláez and Fr Pedro Miguel Sánchez respectively, carry out these youth experiences as part of the pastoral offering by the Salesian educational project in Venezuela. During the pastoral year, in fact, three other Vocational Discernment meetings are planned which, together with this already carried out, form a broad vocational proposal that focuses on the lives of young people and the dream that God has for each of them.
