D.R. Congo - October 2023 - From 3 to 9 October, Fr Alphonse Owoudou, Councillor for the Africa Madagascar Region, who is on an Extraordinary Visitation in the name of the Rector Major to the Salesian Mary of the Assumption Province of Central Africa (AFC), visited the Salesian works located in the territories of Mokambo, Sakania and Kipusha. Wherever he went, Fr Owoudou was warmly welcomed by the students, young people and parishioners of these settings, accompanied and guided by the local Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. During these visits, more than 300 kilometres from the city of Lubumbashi, the Regional Councillor offered the "good morning" thought to the students, celebrated Mass for the faithful and experienced moments of joy and celebration with the Salesian Family in each place. Fr Owoudou had arrived at the provincial house in Lubumbashi on Sunday, 1 October, and there he had said “goodnight” to the young people gathered for the start of pastoral activities for 2023-2024. The following day, he had also met with Fr Guillermo Basañes, AFC Provincial, the Provincial Council and Fr Gauthier Tshibangu, AFC-EST Provincial Delegate, before continuing with some working sessions in particular with the Board of Directors of the Salesian Afia Don Bosco hospital and the Board of Trustees of the Don Bosco University, Lubumbashi.
