Cochabamba, Bolivia - September 2023 - To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Salesian Province "Our Lady of Copacabana" of Bolivia (BOL), the Salesian Youth Day was held from 22 to 24 September. The event was organised by the Provincial Delegation of Youth Ministry, the young coordinators of the Salesian Youth Movement and members of the Salesian Family. More than 400 young people from various regions of the country participated, following the motto and itinerary: "Mary got up and went in haste" (Lk 1:39), to be a sign and bearer of God's Love. The first day was dedicated to the Faith of Mary, a catechesis led by Bishop Fernando Bascopé Müller, SDB, Bishop of the Diocese of San Ignacio de Velasco. Fr Líder Justiniano Flores, Superior of the BOL Province, gave the 'good night'. The second day focused on being bearers of signs of Hope like Mary, a catechesis entrusted to Mgr Eugenio Coter, Bishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of Pando, and the celebration of reconciliation at the hilltop Calvary of the Shrine of the Virgin of Urkupiña. On the last day, five missions on Mary's Charity were carried out for the benefit of: children assisted by the Salesian Oblates of Tiquipaya; elderly people assisted by the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts; good ecological practices of the "Gaiapacha Centre" in the "SOS Villages"; needy families of the apostolate of the FMA in Colcapirhua and the "Hogar de niñas" of the Daughters of the Divine Saviour in Itocta. Fr. Líder Justiniano presided over the concluding Eucharist in the Cathedral of Cochabamba, during which he encouraged the young people to respond promptly to God's call like Mary and the Salesians of the Province to renew their commitment to be signs and bearers of God's Love towards the young people of Bolivia.
