Ethiopia – Two Salesians from Tigray ordained, while a further three Salesians have made the Perpetual Profession
Adigrat, Ethiopia – July 2023 – The Africa-Ethiopia-Eritrea Vice-Province (AET) celebrated with joy and hope the priestly ordination of two of its deacons, both from Tigray, the northern part of the country where a war has been going on for more than two years, and the perpetual profession of three other Salesians, a brother and two clerics. Among the Salesians who have made their Perpetual Profession is also a young missionary from Croatia, Yosiep Soldo, who arrived as a missionary in Ethiopia about three years ago. The priestly ordinations took place in the Cathedral of the Most Holy Saviour in Adigrat. The deacons were ordained by Archbishop Tesfaselassie Medhin, Eparch of the diocese of Adigrat; perpetual professions were held in Makelle, the Mother House of the Salesians in Ethiopia, on 24 July.
