Nigeria – Preparatory sessions for practical trainees
Ibadan, Nigeria – July 2023 – The Nigeria Niger Africa Province (ANN) organised intensive preparation sessions for practical trainees from 3 to 7 July. This took place at the Saints Versiglia and Caravario community in Ibadan. The organiser, Fr James Ailen Oriafo, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, presented a series of resources to clarify the topics presented. There were many topics addressed during the week, including: the mission, the Preventive System, communication, financial management, reports, the friendly chat, assistance to the poor, lay collaborators and the Salesian Family. These preparatory sessions were particularly appreciated and participants were grateful for the opportunity to take part in this experience of intellectual and pedagogical enrichment. The new practical trainees have been given the hope – and at the same time the challenge – that these are “tough days”, so that they can give their best and start their journey towards the new communities already prepared and “equipped” with everything they need.
