Poland – Young people formed through the beauty of nature
Krakow, Poland – July 2023 – A group of more than 50 young people had the opportunity to participate in a canoe trip along the Czarna Hańcza River from 2 to 8 July 2023, organised by Marek Wilczek and Fr Franciszek Janyga, SDB, Provincial Delegate for the Krakow Province (PLS). The participants had the opportunity to travel 70 kilometres in a beautiful natural environment with several picturesque lakes, also participating in afternoon volleyball games, long evenings filled with songs and reflections and nights outdoors. The young people began their adventure on Lake Wigry, and then attended Sunday Mass at the historic Camaldolese monastery there. They then briefly visited this local tourist attraction, then ended up in Augustów. The adventure was enriched by a touching Mass at sunset, celebrated by Fr Franciszek Janyga, as well as by the community Rosary and morning prayer for those who desired it. All this time has been enriching and has featured sea songs, bonfires, music and a lot of good humour. Young people have returned from these days with many good memories, new friendships and the desire to meet again soon.
