Portugal – Celebrations conclude for the 60th anniversary of the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Mogofores
Mogofores, Portugal – June 2023 - The solemn celebration of Mary Help of Christians took place in Mogofores on 24 May at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, during which the local group of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) renewed its promises. The following day, after praying the rosary, parishioners and pilgrims participated in a convivial meeting. On 25 May the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Mogofores celebrated the 60th anniversary of its consecration. The event included a varied program lasting several days, with guided visits to the Shrine to discover its artistic and religious aspects; a conference on the history of the shrine, held on 3 June 3 by Fr Joaquim Taveira SDB, a former student of the work; and finally, on 4 June, the concluding Eucharist for the celebrations, celebrated by the Bishop of Aveiro, Bishop António Moiteiro, and concelebrated by the Provincial of the Salesians of Portugal and Cape Verde, Fr José Aníbal Mendonça, and the Salesian community in Mogofores.
