Thailand – "Like yeast, active: become a collaborator of Youth Ministry": a seminar organised by the Catechetical Centre at Mae Rim
Chiang Mai, Thailand – May 2023 – Fr David Vichiensaeng Kongtrakoondee, SDB, Director of the Mae Rim District Catechetical Centre in Chiang Mai, organised a seminar on the theme: “Like yeast, active: become a collaborator of Youth Ministry”, held from 28 to 31 May. A total of 45 people took part in the seminar, including priests, sisters, catechists and other people who work with young people in the Diocese of Chiang Mai. The main speaker at the seminar was the Fr Yarat Chaiyara, a Salesian, who led the participants to deeply understand the heart of the pastoral work that comes from Jesus, who is the Good Shepherd. The second part of the seminar was highlighted by a talk from Fr Ronachai Mathavabhandhu , who spoke about the difficulties of today's young people and how they have influenced relations between generations; and a talk by Fr Prasert Somngam, who shared his experience of pastoral work in the parish with participants. The event ended with the concluding Mass celebrated by Bishop Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana, Bishop of Chiang Mai.
