RMG - Start of "special" course for new missionaries
Rome, RMG - May 2023 - The "special" course for new missionaries began on May 7 at Salesian Central Headquarters in Rome. This is a course organized especially for missionaries sent during the pandemic (2020-2021), who therefore did not take the usual orientation course for departing missionaries. Fr. Reginaldo Cordeiro, director of the course, is being assisted by all members of the Missions Sector team. The introductory and cultural cores are held in Rome. Then the participants will move to the Salesian Holy Places in Piedmont for the charismatic core, and they will also participate in the feast of Mary Help of Christians in Valdocco on May 24. Finally, the course shall conclude on May 26. Currently, 18 missionaries are participating, although five more will arrive within a few days due to the delay in issuing Italian visas.
