Chile - April 2023 - The Councilor for the America Southern Cone Region, Fr. Gabriel Romero, continues his Extraordinary Visit to Salesian works in the Chilean Province (CIL). On March 27, he visited the Salesian school in Concepción and from April 13 to 18, the Don Bosco School in Antofagasta. In Concepción, Fr. Romero presided at the Eucharist and at the end greeted the young people and middle school educators in the "Don Bosco Grammar School." He then met with the Board of Directors to learn about the educational processes and projects of the various work teams. He then continued the meetings with the School Board and in the afternoon met with Salesian educators who shared their experiences. The day ended with a meeting with the school pastoral, where more than 50 people who lead the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) association groups and family animation shared their experiences. In Antofagasta, during the first day Fr. Romero met with the religious community, the Principal, Héctor Ramírez, the Economic Council, teachers and leaders of the Pupil Center and General Center of Parents and Guardians. On the second day, the Regional Councilor, after the traditional "good morning", continued with meetings: with representatives of the Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta; the Director, Fr. Juan Bustamante; and the two groups of the Salesian Family present in the work: Salesian Cooperators and the Association of Mary Help of Christians. Fr. Romero also spoke with the SYM Coordinating Council and youth groups, and concluded his visit by presiding at the Eucharist in the Don Bosco Temple packed with faithful and young people.
