Loutolim, India - 23 February 2023 - The General Councilor of Formation, Fr. Ivo Coelho paid a visit to the pre-novitiate of the INP province along with Fr. Banzelao Teixeira, the vice provincial of the Panjim province. Fr. Ashley Miranda INB vice provincial was also visiting at that time. The purpose of the visit was to assess the formation program, interact with the formation staff and the seminarians, and offer support where necessary. The General Councilor was impressed with the over-all atmosphere in the Formation House. The seminarians appeared to be happy and measuring up to the objectives of this formative phase as understood from the interactive session taken for the pre-novices. Fr. Ivo spoke specifically on four points which included the relationship with God through personal prayer and frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament and understanding the plan of God in each one’s life. He urged the pre-novices to know Don Bosco better and to examine if they have a love for poor youngsters just like Don Bosco. He emphasized the importance of spiritual direction and of knowing the Salesian vocation specifically the identity of the coadjutor brother and the priest.
