Mexico - Bicycle ride in honor of Don Bosco
Mérida, Mexico - January 2023 - On January 22, the Salesian Cooperators, in collaboration with the Salesian Youth Movement of Alborada Mérida, in the State of Yucatán, Mexico, carried out a "Bicycle ride in honor of St. John Bosco," making a route among the chapels of the rectory of "María Auxiliadora" in Alborada, a city in Mérida. The Biciclettata visited 8 chapels entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco, starting with the Alborada chapel and then visiting the chapels of "San Antonio," "La Lupita," "San Agustín," "María Reina," "Don Bosco," "Rosario de Fátima," "San Juan Apóstol," and "San Pedro and San Pablo," finally returning to Alborada. In each chapel, one aspect of the Rector Major's Strenna 2023 was reflected upon, and upon arrival at the site, the coordinator or person in charge of each chapel welcomed the participants by sharing a short message inspired by the Strenna. The objective of this activity is to promote the integration of the population in the south of the city by carrying out healthy and family-life activities as part of the celebrations in honor of Don Bosco. Family groups, Oratorians, members of youth groups, Salesian Cooperators, and parishioners from the different chapels participated in the initiative.
