Papua New Guinea - Christmas celebrations together with young people
Kokopo, Papua New Guinea - December 2022 - Lots of young people gathered last December 26 at the "Don Bosco" Secondary Technical School in Kokopo for the closing of their annual programs. Salesians and benefactors joined the youngsters for an exchange of Christmas gifts. The day began with Mass presided over by Fr. Moise Paluku, a Salesian, who urged the youth to participate in the various parish activities planned for the coming year and encouraged them to be more active with their leadership skills in their respective communities. Afterward, Fr. Paluku dwelt on the martyrdom of St. Stephen, urging the youth to be as courageous as he and the Apostles in spreading the Good News. In the second part of the day, the students were involved in a singing competition with Salesian Cooperators engaged as judges. The program ended with a gift offered by the Salesians and benefactors to all the young people who participated in the program.
