Rwanda - Opening of VI Provincial Chapter of Africa Great Lakes Vice-Province
Kigali, Rwanda - May 2022 - The opening of the VI Provincial Chapter of the Africa Great Lakes Vice-Province (AGL) was held on May 31 to strengthen the implementation of the Congregation's 28th General Chapter and deepen the eight programmatic lines presented by the Rector Major. The Provincial Chapter, attended by 38 chapter members, was opened by the Superior of the AGL Vice-Province, Fr. Pierre-Célestin Ngoboka. The delegates from the groups of the Salesian Family presented the results of their activities of the past three years, their wishes, and projects. It was a moment of joy because, for two years after the pandemic, Salesians and members of the Salesian Family had not been able to meet in such large numbers as is happening these days. "May the Holy Spirit accompany the Chapter members in their discernment of the signs of the times, so that the 'St. Charles Lwanga' Vice-Province may continue to fertilize the action of the Kingdom of God in the hearts of young people and their families," was the wish formulated by Fr. Raphaël Katanga, Delegate of Social Communication of the Vice-Province.
