Italy - Youth Orchestra of Salesian Institute "Sacred Heart of Mary" of Caserta wins first prizes in three music competitions
Caserta, Italy - May 2022 - The youth orchestra of the Salesian Institute "Sacred Heart of Mary" of Caserta has brought high the name of the city and of Don Bosco, as it recently won three first prizes, two in international music competitions and a national one. The competitions: "International music competition Giovani promesse" of Bracigliano (April 8); "National music competition Umberto Giordano" of Foggia (May 2); and the "Concorso Internazionale Musicale Città di Pesaro" (May 6). Formed by about 50 pupils of the Don Bosco school (from the first year of elementary school to the fifth year of high school), the orchestra is directed by Maestro Enzo Anastasio, with the organizational supervision of Professor Massimo Barone and Agostino Barone, former principal of the Salesian middle school. Now they are aiming at "Procida Capital of Culture": the young musicians of the Don Bosco school, in fact, will be the protagonists of the event "The world saved by children" in the splendid setting of the island of Procida.
