Krakow, Poland - February 2022 - Because of the war operations in Ukraine, I ask all the Salesian Family of our Province to pray for peace in this country and for the grace of repentance for those who make themselves lords of life and death of the others.

Among those whose lives are at risk are our Salesian confreres. In Ukraine, our Province has five presences: in Odessa (3 brothers), in Korosteszów (3 brothers), in Zhytomyr (2 brothers), in Przemyślany (2 brothers), and in Bóbrka (4 brothers). Two of them were outside Ukraine at the time of the conflict.

All the others have informed me that they are ready to remain there to accompany their faithful and the young people entrusted to them in this difficult moment.
As a Province, we remain in regular contact with them and ensure our prayer, logistical and material support.

In addition to them, our Greek-Catholic Salesian brothers also work in Ukraine (in Lviv and Kyiv), who also recommend themselves to our prayers.
Let us also remember the Salesian Cooperators of Ukraine and the entire Salesian Family present there, who in these hours are experiencing the misfortune of war.
May Mary Help of Christians, whom Don Bosco chose as Patroness of our Congregation, protect them all.

Fr Marcin Kaznowski SDB
Provincial of the Krakow Province (PLS)
