Malta - Two new paintings of St Dominic Savio and Blessed Laura Vicuña
Sliema, Malta - October 2021 - After the creation of the new portrait of Don Bosco by Edoardo La Francesca, Fr Charles Cini, SDB, proposed yet another project to the Italian artist: the painting of two important figures from the Salesian world: St. Dominic Savio and Blessed Laura Vicuña. For the creation of the young saint’s painting, La Francesca carried out a very thorough study and qualified research through various books, including the life of Dominic Savio written by Don Bosco himself, since there are no images of the saint. This study helped to create and express the coherent image and personality of Dominic Savio, bearing in mind that the young saint is a source of inspiration for today's young people.
