Mexico - Meeting of Planning and Development Offices
Tijuana, Mexico - October 2021 - The tenth meeting of the Planning and Development Offices and the project offices of the various Salesian communities of the Mexico-Guadalajara Province took place from 6 to 8 October at the headquarters of the "Tijuana Salesian Project" (MEG). Also present were the staff of the Provincial Delegations for Social Communication and Youth Ministry. Themes of international treaties, the Magisterium of the Church and Attention to the three main interest groups (i.e., Young migrants, Young people in conflict with the law and Young people at Risk) were focused upon by the Provincial Planning and Development Office (OPDI). The meeting ended with a day of reflection and workshops on the following priorities of focus: Transparency, Responsibility and Salesian accompaniment. Salesian works are constantly committed to serving young people in the best possible way and from this perspective. The Director of OPDI, Fr Carlos Quirarte, SDB, proposed a reflection on new ways of facing critical social realities, of rethinking conventional models and building on the wealth of experiences from projects already undertaken in various Salesian communities.
