Uruguay - 25 years of Youth Center of Don Bosco Social Work in Salto
Salto, Uruguay - October 2020 - The Youth Center of the Don Bosco Social Work in Salto celebrated its 25 years of existence on 1 October. During this time, it has transformed the lives of many young people in situations of vulnerability. Currently, 97 young people aged between 12 and 18 are being assisted by the Social Work, children with families in a situation of social vulnerability, and 19 collaborators work there with the support of "INAU" and the direction of the Salesians. The objectives are multiple: to assist the young person's integral educational process in a personalized way; provide basic vocational training through woodworking and metal workshops, and regional cuisine; provide a socio-educational space to accompany the personal growth of young people; offer a recreational and sports space; promote awareness in families of the importance of the young person's education and accompaniment; and promote a professional and harmonious working environment.
