Mongolia - Darkhan Salesians plant 4,680 trees to protect planet
Darkhan, Mongolia - May 19, 2020 - On the occasion of the "Laudato Sì" week, on the theme of "Everything is connected", the Salesian community of Darkhan has planted 4,680 new trees with the help of its mission's lay collaborators. The Darkhan community is entrusted with the parish of Mary Help of Christians, an oratory and a school whose activities are now interrupted due to the pandemic, why the center's Director, Fr Simon Lee, has decided to concentrate all efforts on agricultural work. "We decided to plant about 4,680 different trees including lilacs, oaks and maples, to make our contribution to safeguarding our planet," said Fr Lee.
