(ANS – Monrovia) – Brother Lothar Wagner SDB has been in Liberia for about a year now. In the West African country the 43 year-old Salesian takes care of children and young people who are socially marginalized, such as the homeless “cemetery children” from Monrovia. The young people have to sleep in tombs because they do not have an alternative sleeping place.
(ANS – Kotadeniyawa) – Missionary testimonies are the source of new missionary vocations. This is the experience of many Salesians. And this is also the experience of Faustin Bahati, a Congolese Salesian missionary in Sri Lanka: “When I was a student at the Salesian school, I read the story of the first Salesian missionaries in my country. Their testimonies appealed a lot to me. They have contributed greatly to the evangelization and the social life of my people. I felt inspired. I began to personally discern a missionary vocation in my own heart. I felt deep within me a call to Salesian life and, during my novitiate, I expressed my desire to be a missionary ad gentes, ad vitam”.
(ANS - Montevideo) - Although not everyone has passed through the doors of a Salesian institute, those who are part of "Aristophanes" feel absolutely part of the example of Don Bosco and try to transmit his values through their art. This is what three members of this parodic theater company claim; they are: Juan Ignacio Cristóbal, Winston Gorgal and Daniel Javier.
