The whole world suffers from wars, poverty and violence and continues to confront and divide on the issue of migration, often forgetting that behind the words "migrants" and "refugees" there are stories of men, women and children.

The UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, documented that last year there were 110 million people forced to flee globally, 1.6 million more than at the end of 2022.

The Missionary Bulletin "Cagliero11" has published a forum on the ranking of the countries that takes in the largest number of refugees (data referring to 2023).

The forum shows that 55% of refugees are living in only 10 countries: Iran (3.4 million), Turkey (3.4m), Germany (2.5M), Colombia (2.5M), Pakistan (2.1M), Uganda (1.5M), Russian Federation (1.2m), Poland (989,900), Peru (987,200), Bangladesh (961,800).

The Salesians are at the forefront of helping migrants and refugees settle in the countries where they arrive and access the resources they need.
