Cartagena, Colombia – April 2025 – In an evening full of pride, recognition, and celebration of educational success in Cartagena, the Salesian Technical Schools stood out as one of the main stars at the “Night of the Best.” Organized by the Cartagena District’s Department of Education, the event honored institutions, educators, students, and leaders who have made a significant impact in the local educational system through excellence, dedication, and transformation.

Among the honored institutions, the Salesian Vocational Schools were awarded in three major categories. They were recognized as a top-tier educational institution under the Saber 11 – Category A classification, highlighting their consistent commitment to providing comprehensive, high-quality education. This education aims not only for academic excellence but also for shaping strong, values-based life projects.

The leadership team, especially the school coordinators, was praised for their effective pedagogical and managerial leadership. Additionally, Salesian Brother Juan Carlos Echavarría, the school’s principal, was recognized in the “Inspiring Principals” category for his values-centered educational leadership rooted in the Salesian charism.

Echavarría commented, “These recognitions encourage continued, dedicated work with everyone in our school community. They show that Salesian Technical Schools continue to offer the excellence in education that the city expects. Our biggest challenge is to keep building on Don Bosco’s mission here in Cartagena.
