Don Bosco arrives in Valdocco

On 5 April 1846 Don Bosco arrived in Valdocco for the first time. It was Palm Sunday and once he arrived he rented the Pinardi shed.

Within a week he turned it into a chapel. On 12 April on Easter Sunday, he inaugurated the Pinardi Shed.

In a short time, the Pinardi Shed became the small chapel where Don Bosco's activity was concentrated in the early years and where many young people found help and hospitality.

The place then became a study room and youth dormitory until 1856, then a refectory for the first Salesian community until 1927.
