Every second a child in Ukraine becomes a refugee because of the war

According to UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, there are already nearly 3 million Ukrainian refugees.

1.4 million of the refugees are minors, many of whom have left the country without family members.

In addition, the UN estimates that there are at least 1.85 million internally displaced persons, and another 12.65 million people directly affected by the war, who are also facing extremely cold temperatures.

More than half of the refugees are housed in Poland, where border guards report that about 1,850,000 people have entered. In terms of reception, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova and Romania follow.

Salesian missionaries are working day and night to help the population both in Ukraine and on the borders where thousands of people arrive every day.
