Bogotá, Colombia – September 2024 – A meeting of Rectors of Salesian presences in the St Peter Claver Province of Bogotá (COB) took place on 6 September in the provincial headquarters, aimed at proceeding with the accompaniment, direction and animation of their communities. The meeting, chaired by the Provincial Fr John Jairo Gómez Rúa, began with a message of reflection and animation focused on the application of the Rector Major's Strenna 2025 at the local and provincial level and with the invitation to the Rectors to further understand their work with educators, young people, the laity and the Salesian mission. During the day, an evaluation of the six-year period was carried out, highlighting how the Provincial's animation contributed to the spiritual growth and development of the mission in Salesian presences. The challenges for the next six years were also discussed, tracing a clear path to continue in the formation and expansion of the Salesian mission. The meeting included a review of the work done by the Preferential Option, focusing on network efforts to support those who need it most and working with mixed migration movements. A three-year evaluation of the Overall Province Plan was presented, highlighting the impact of pastoral work and the joint effort of the Province.

Odxel, India – September 2024 – An event entitled "Together for the dignity of young migrants in difficulty" was held in recent days at the Provincial House in Panjim, India, organised with the aim of addressing the pressing challenges that young migrants face. The meeting brought together leaders from various sectors to share knowledge, discuss interventions and plan collaborative efforts aimed at improving the lives of migrants. Dr. Kingshuk Sarcar, Associate Professor at the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) and former Labour Commissioner of West Bengal, gave the keynote address, providing an in-depth analysis of existing labour laws on interstate migration and shedding light on the legal frameworks governing migrant workers' rights. During the meeting, several prominent speakers spoke, including Father Joe Nazareth, SJ, of the Migrant Assistance and Information Network (MAIN), Feliza Goes of Pravasi Bandhu and Fr Jose Sequeira, SDB, Director of the Migrant Desk program of the INP Province. The speakers illustrated the various support mechanisms, including the creation of a short-term reception house in Old Goa, the guarantee of rights, the improvement of access to education and health care and the vocational training of migrants. In conclusion, Don Bosco Francis, Director of the Salesian Don Bosco for Migrants" Service *DB4M) explained what the path to follow should be and the participants collectively agreed on different points of action to address the situation of migrants in difficulty.

Brasilia, Brazil – September 2024 - From 3 to 5 September, the national headquarters of the Rede Salesiana Brasil (RSB), in Brasilia (DF), hosted the 10th Assembly of the Salesian History Association (ACSSA) Brazil Section. In total, the group has 20 members, with two persons of references: Sister Maria Carmelita de Lima Conceição, FMA, Provincial of Our Lady of the Amazon Province and Fr Natale Vitali Forte, SDB, Superior of the St John Bosco Province. In this Assembly, the new Coordinator of ACSSA-Brazil, Fr Edson Donizetti Castilho, of the Salesian Our Lady Help of Christians was elected, replacing  Fr João da Silva Mendonça Filho who leaves the position of Coordinator at the end of his two-year term but continues as an active member of the Association. ACSSA-Brazil, which is part of ACSSA with headquarters in Rome, came into existence under the protection of the Salesian Network Brazil, with the full support of the Provincials, who offer their total and ongoing support, institutionalising the activities of ACSSA-Brazil. This year's meeting took place in preparation for the ACSSA Continental Seminar which will be held in June 2025, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the theme "Salesian Mission in America 150 years – Contents, contributions, challenges". In addition, the team of the Brazil Section now has eight new members: four new Salesians who have joined, two Salesian lay Cooperators and two Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

Slovenia – September 2024 - The Dom Janeza Boska boarding school, at the Salesian works in Želimlje and Ljubljana Rakovnik has regained vitality with the arrival of high school students after the holidays For years now, it has been welcoming young people who leave their families and embark on a journey of seeking knowledge, new friendships and adventures and learning for life. In the 2024/25 school year at the Saint Francis de Sales Institute in Želimlje, 265 young people are accommodated, assisted by 12 educators under the guidance of the director Fr Gašper Otrin SDB. Among the students there are 84 new arrivals, including 47 girls and 37 boys who were welcomed on Sunday 1 September 2024 in a festive atmosphere with the intervention of the new principal of the Institute, Salesian Brother Janez Krnc. In the Studentate, a branch of Ljubljana Rakovnik, 56 young people started the school year, including 23 new ones assisted by three educators under the guidance of educator Mateja Ferenčak, a Salesian Cooperator.

Iju-Lagos, Nigeria – September 2024 – 8 September 2024 is a historic date for Nigeria, as for the first time in a joint ceremony the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) in the Africa Nigeria Niger Province (ANN), and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA) in the Mary Mother of God Province (AFO), gathered to witness the perpetual profession of two of their members: Cecilia Chidimma Anadi and Dioudonne de Marie Mulongoy. The Holy Mass was celebrated in the chapel of Mary Help of Christians at the ANN Provincial House in Iju-Lagos, and was presided over by Fr Gianni Rolandi, SDB, who is making the Extraordinary Visitation to the ANN Province. In his homily, Fr Rolandi urged the candidates to remain firm in their vocation, offering them words of encouragement: "Be strong and do not be afraid". Attending the FMA and SDB celebration, the FMA Provincial, Sister Yvette Badini, Fr Peter Morba, Vice-Provincial ANN, family, friends and supporters. The celebration marked a significant milestone in the history of both congregations, underlining their common mission and the unity of the Salesian family.

Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Brazil - September 2024 - "Catholic education: leaven of fraternity, dialogue and inclusion" is the theme of the Provincial Meeting of administrators of Salesian works which is taking place at the Colônia Salesiana São Sebastião from 9 September to 11 September. The place, the cradle of Salesianity, welcomed the participants who experienced a program marked by moments of spirituality, formation and commitment; all in line with the mission of the Saint Aloysius Gonzaga Province (BRE) on behalf of young people. On 9  September, the meeting began with the opening prayer by Fr Robson Barros, Provincial Economer, with the collaboration of the pastoral team of the Salesian College in Jaboatão. Immediately afterwards, the program included the Opening Lesson on the program theme given by Fr Ilmário de Souza Pinheiro, Rector of the Salesian Colleges in Natal, and continued with the workshop on "Reflecting on Catholic Education". On 10 September, Dr. Aquiles Burlamaqui spoke on  "Changing Epochs: Digital Culture and Artificial Intelligence" and a workshop on "Applications of Artificial Intelligence inside and outside the classroom". Then Antônio Gomes (Data Secret) also spoke, in a panel on the "Impacts of the general law on data protection on daily professional life". On the last day of the Conference, Prof. Paloma Bastos will hold a conference on "Mental health in the workplace".
