Madrid, Spain – September 2024 – On 19 and 20 September, the Salesian National Centre for Youth Ministry in Spain (CNSPJ, in Spanish) held a meeting of the coordination team, in which the stages to be followed in the work plan for this new working year were outlined. The meeting took place at Don Bosco House, recently opened, in Vallecas in Madrid, and opened with a reflection led by the Director of the CNSPJ, Fr José Miguel Núñez, who in his speech highlighted the opening of Don Bosco House as a space designed for work, hospitality and formation – a centre that brings together several Salesian delegations under the same roof and thus consolidates the sense of unity and service within the Salesian youth ministry in Spain. One of the central themes was the revision of the strategic plan for the two-year period 2024-2026. During the session, the objectives and strategies outlined above were reviewed, adjusting the goals achieved and defining new priorities. At the same time, the importance of the processes being promoted was highlighted, such as the formation of pastoral workers, the strengthening of the "Valdocco Communities", the promotion of paths of accompaniment for young people, the affective and sexual formation course for educators and the formation process for prayer. The CNSPJ Director also introduced the Regional Seminar on First Announcement and Inter-religious Dialogue, which will be held from 11 to 13 October in Madrid.

Sao Paulo, Brazil – September 2024 – A meeting of the Association of Mary Help of Christians (ADMA) in the Salesian Province of Sao Paulo, Brazil (BSP) took place on Saturday 21 September, at the Salesian  São Carlos social work. The event was attended by about 250 members of ADMA from 21 local ADMA groups, in addition to 30 applicants, accompanied by Fr Alexandre Luis de Oliveira, Superior of the BSP Province; Fr Vinicius Ricardo de Paula, Provincial Delegate for ADMA; Salesian Brother Luís Antônio Amiranda, Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family; and various other Salesians. The theme for reflection was the same as the 9th International Congress of Mary Help of Christians (Fatima, Portugal – 29 August, 1 September 2024), "I will give you a Teacher". The meeting opened with the opening prayer, led by Fr William de Lima, who recalled Don Bosco's Dream at 9 years of age; and was followed by Fr Marco Biaggi's reflection, focused on the theme "At the School of Mary, Eucharistic Woman". Fr Biaggi reiterated that "the members of ADMA are entrusted with the mission of being true ‘living stones‘ in the Church of the Lord, promoting devotion to Our Lady Help of Christians and Jesus in the Eucharist". At the end of the other contributions, Father Alexandre Luis de Oliveira celebrated the Eucharistic and finally imparted the blessing of Mary Help of Christians to those present and thanked the Lord for this group with such a special charism, alive and active in the Province.

Kinshasa – DR Congo – September 2024 – On Sunday, 22 September, the visit of Fr Joan Lluís Playà, SDB, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family Secretariat to the Salesian Vice-Province of Africa Congo Congo (ACC) has come to an end. The day began with the Mass celebrated by Fr Playà, in which the members of the Salesian Family of Kinshasa participated. At the end of the Mass there was a moment of exchanged during which the members of the Salesian Family thanked Fr Playà for the visit and offered him various souvenirs.

Bellflower, United States – September 2024 – The Youth Ministry team of the Salesian Province of the United States West (SUO) met on 21 September at St John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California, to begin an enthusiastic series of meetings. After the opening prayer and the invitation to reflect on what gives hope, the day continued with a discussion based on Strenna 2024. Focus was on the dreams and aspirations of young people who attend Salesian communities and they reflected on how to create more opportunities for young people. Also taking part in the event was Fr Fabian Cardenas, SDB, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, who led the group in a review of strategic and pastoral plans. In conclusion, updates and inspirational testimonials were shared for all those present. Overall, this meeting was not only a review of the work in progress but an appreciation of the effort made by the Salesians to give strength to the young people of the Province.

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea – September 2024 - Leaders in the parish of Mary Help of Christians, Sabama Oratory - students of the MHC TVET and some from DBTI, had the opportunity to participate in a formation programme on 20 and 21 September at the Sivarai Namona Pastoral Centre in Bomana. The programme was organised by Fr Ambrose Pereira, SDB, parish priest, with the help of Sister Theresa Trinh Vu, FMA, who has been instrumental in coordinating the students in oratory programmes at MHC parish, Sabama since 2023. The formation programme, with its theme, "Sharing our talents and gifts", was dynamic, characterised by moments of prayer, fun, games and discussions.

Santiago, Chile – September 2024 - The Salesians of Don Bosco from all the religious communities in the country gathered on 23 September at the Lo Cañas Spirituality Centre to celebrate the St Gabriel the Archangel Province of Chile  Provincial Day (CIL). The meeting, traditionally held near the liturgical feast of the holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, was aimed at giving thanks to God and celebrating an active and current Province, which projects its charismatic work into the future. The morning involved an address by the Auxiliary Bishop of Santiago, Bishop Alberto Lorenzelli, SDB, and the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by the Provincial, Fr Nelson Moreno. During his homily, the Provincial said: "Let us thank God for all of us who today form the Province of St Gabriel the Archangel, 90 Salesians, four postnovices and three students of Theology. We are building today together, and while our past has been important, tomorrow will be much more important, because I am encouraged by the certainty and confidence of knowing that each of us brings the best of himself to our Province." In the afternoon, recognition was given to some Salesians who received the "Camilo Ortúzar Montt" award from the Provincial, Fr Nelson Moreno, and from the Economer, Fr Néstor Muñoz, for their service and Salesian life. A video was presented in honour of some Salesians who celebrate different jubilees.
