Ljubljana, Slovenia - June 14, 2019 - The Salesian School of Music of Rakovnik concluded the 20th anniversary celebrations with a solemn concert in the great hall of the Slovenian Philharmonic Academy. The children and young people, with their teachers, prepared a rich repertoire of classical and modern musical pieces. It all began in the fall of 1998 when Salesian Fr Metod Ogorevc - in the Salesian parish with the Marian shrine in Ljubljana Rakovnik - after listening to some parents, launched the idea of starting a music school for their children. Over the years the small school has grown and is currently attended by 250 students. Fr Marko Košnik, Salesian Provincial of Slovenia, expressed his gratitude in the closing speech to all the teachers, parents and young musicians and to the Rakovnik School of Music which continues to transmit the song of Don Bosco's joy and dreams.
