Lima, Peru - August 23, 2018 - On 23 August, in Lima, Fr. Jorge Maucchi, famous writer,scholar, educator, teacher and artist died. Born on 11 January 1925, he made hisperpetual vows in 1949 and was ordained priest on 30 November 1952 in Santiago, Chile.A Salesian dedicated to pastoral work in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Lima andartist of the Shrine, he created many great artistic works in honor of Don Bosco; one ofthem spread right across the Salesian world, reproduced in numerous publications.
