With its headquarters in New Delhi, the province spans 11 states and 2 union territories in North India, covering 46% of India's geographic area. SPCI (Salesian Provincial Conference of India) House: New Delhi

The Province of New Delhi has the privilege of hosting the Regional House and Secretariat of the Salesian Provincial Conference of South Asia (SPCSA) at Palam Gaon, New Delhi. The Salesian Provincials Conference of South Asia serves as a structure for reflection, sharing, and coordination among the Salesian Provinces in the region.

The house was started in January 1997 in Dashrathpuri, Delhi, and was canonically erected on 4th June 2003. In 2015, another property, the Dwarka Palace Hotel in Dwarka, New Delhi, was purchased, and the new SPCI House was inaugurated by the Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime, on 29th September 2015.

After modifying the Dwarka premises, it was decided by the SPCSA that the network offices of Bosconet and DB Tech would remain in Dashrathpuri, while the offices of DBYA (Don Bosco Youth Animation), YaR (Young at Risk), Salesian Family, and the SPCSA Secretariat would operate from the newly renovated property in Dwarka. The Salesian community also took up residence in the Dwarka premises.

The modification and shifting of offices were completed by May 2017, and the newly constructed chapel was blessed and inaugurated on 24th May 2017 by His Grace Giampietro Diquatro, the Vatican’s Pro-Nuncio to India. Today, these two centers house the South Asia Regional Offices for the following:

  • The Secretariat of the Provincial Conference of South Asia.
  • The South Asia Office of Don Bosco Youth Animation (DBYA).
  • The South Asia Office of the Salesian Family.
  • Offices of the Don Bosco National Forum for the Young at Risk (YaR).
  • The Office of the Don Bosco Tech Society.
  • The Salesian Procure (BoscoNet) of South Asia.

Being a collaborative venture of all the Salesian provinces in South Asia, the members of the SPCI House come from various provinces in the region. This community serves South Asia through its efforts in animation and coordination work.

Salesian Family Members

The province is supported by a diverse Salesian Family, including the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), Salesian Co-operators, ADMA, MSMHC, SMI, and other affiliated groups. Past pupils, teachers, parents, and volunteers also contribute to the mission, sharing the Salesian spirit of service and compassion.

Conclusion

The Salesian Province of New Delhi, under the guidance of Jesus the Good Shepherd, has profoundly impacted the lives of countless individuals across North India. Rooted in the legacy of St. John Bosco, the province continues to empower marginalized communities through education, vocational training, and social outreach.
