Romania – Meeting of the Consultation Group of the Salesian Youth Movement in the Romania-Moldova Delegation
Bacău, Romania – February 2025 – The Salesian Oratory in Bacău hosted the meeting of the Consultation Group of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) of the Romania-Moldova Delegation from February 21 to 23. This gathering provided an opportunity for growth, dialogue, and planning for young animators from the three Salesian works in the region. The event brought together animators from Bacău, led by the Rector of Constanța, Fr. Andrei Laslau and accompanied by Fr. Iosif Ilies, besides Fr. Fabrizio Iacuzzi from Chișinău. The group continued the work initiated during the summer, focusing on pastoral activities centered on the themes of fraternity and care. The three-day event began with a warm welcome, followed by a night of games and ice-breaker group activities. During the evening reflection, Fr. Emanuele Zof, Delegate for Youth Ministry of the Italy-Northeast Province (INE), emphasized the importance of belonging to the SYM, highlighting that it is a reality to be lived and shared with all young people. On Saturday morning, Fr. Zof led a spiritual retreat on the theme of "fraternity and care," drawing from Pope Francis’ encyclical Fratelli Tutti and stories of care from the life of Don Bosco. The retreat concluded with a profound moment of communal prayer. The meeting ended on Sunday with a final sharing session and the celebration of the Eucharist, strengthening the spirit of fraternity and reinforcing the young participants’ desire to be witnesses of Salesian care and love in their communities.
