India – The "Health ATM" at Don Bosco Central School in Kattapana
Kattapana, India – February 2025 – A groundbreaking step in accessible and digital healthcare has been taken at Don Bosco Central School in Kattapana with the installation of a "Health ATM." This self-service kiosk, available to students, parents, and the local community, offers quick and hassle-free health check-ups. Equipped with advanced medical technology, the Health ATM allows users to monitor vital health parameters such as blood pressure, blood sugar levels, Body Mass Index (BMI), oxygen saturation, temperature, and more—all within minutes. This initiative bridges the gap between technology and healthcare, promoting prevention and well-being. According to Fr. Varghese Edathichira, the school’s principal, this preventive healthcare initiative is part of a holistic approach to ensuring the well-being of students, teachers, parents, and the wider community. "By addressing both physical and mental health, we aim to create a healthy and supportive learning environment," he concluded.
