Mexico - The first meeting of the SYM for children in the Salesian Province of Guadalajara has been held
San Luis Potosí, Mexico – January 2025 - The first meeting of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) for children in the Province of Guadalajara, Mexico (MEG) took place in an atmosphere of joy and fraternity from 10 to 12 January at the Carlos Gómez Salesian Institute (ICG) in San Luis Potosí. Don Bosco Saltimbanqui was the inspiration and the central theme of this weekend. Coming from the various works of Province MEG, the following participated: Salesians, other leaders, young local leaders, parents and just over 50 children, between the ages of 7 and 12. During these days, the participants danced, sang and had fun in various social spaces. In addition, two formation sessions were included, one on the "John Bosco's first dream" and another on the importance of identifying reliable people. In addition to the various recreational activities, the accompanying adults also participated in formation sessions dedicated to them on issues related to positive parenting, the preventive system and Salesianity. On the last day, a meeting was held in which the participants tested their knowledge of the SYM. The concluding Eucharist was presided over by Fr Francisco Agapito Espinoza, SDB, Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, who urged those present to live their vocation as baptized in a "joyful and dedicated service to others".
