Ecuador - The arrival of the Salesians in Quito
Featured
Quito, Ecuador - 1888 - The Salesians arrived in Quito on 28 January 1888. Their arrival in the country was made possible by José María Plácido Camaño, president at the time, who was aware of the great work carried out in Argentina by the Congregation. The Ecuadorian government gave the Catholic Protectorate of Arts and Trades to the Salesians, subsidising their activities. The results obtained were immediately satisfying, both for the President and Ministers of State, and for the people of Quito.
