The logo incorporates several elements representative of the university's institutional identity. The coat of arms, in blue on a yellow background, symbolises the legacy and trajectory of the UDB. Don Bosco's face, in shades of blue, occupies two-thirds of the space, highlighting his friendly and serene gaze. Next to him, an open book with three white pages from which a flame emerges in three sections, represents the knowledge and wisdom that the university promotes. A blue cross, which extends to the edges of the coat of arms, reaffirms the Catholic character of the UDB.
The basis of the new logo was developed by graphic artist Oscar Cornejo, together with an interdisciplinary team that included university graduates and professionals from the School of Graphic and Industrial Design. In the logo, the reinterpretation of the face of Don Bosco reflects a closer and more modern image in line with the educational values of the UDB and its mission to train professionals committed to society.
The new logo of the Salesian university renews the visual identity of the university and expresses its vision to continue transmitting the principles of St John Bosco through an integral education, which brings together science, technology, culture and social commitment. With this change, the UDB reaffirms its role as a cutting-edge educational institution and consolidates its legacy as a point of reference for academic and humanities education in El Salvador and the entire Central American region.
