Democratic Republic of the Congo – Formation session in Mary Help of Christians Parish in Kakyelo: Salesian support at the service of the Kakyelo community
DR Congo – November 2024 – From 7 to 10 November, the Mary Help of Christians Parish, located in the Kakyelo mission belonging to the Mary Most Holy Assumption Province of Central Africa (AFC), hosted a formation session for leaders of missionary Christian communities. This time for formation was organised by the parish priest, Fr Jean-Pierre Muhima Mutaka, SDB, with the support of the parish council, to respond to the pastoral and spiritual challenges encountered in this mission. All the leaders of the fifteen Christian communities of Kakyelo responded to the invitation. The session addressed issues essential for the spiritual and organisational development of the communities. "Let's get up and build our diocese in synodality" was the theme and those present were urged to actively participate in the construction of a Church founded on collaboration and were also prepared for conflict management and the financial self-management of the community. The session ended on Sunday 10 November with a solemn Mass presided over by Fr Kibilo Gaston, Vicar General of the Diocese of Sakania-Kipushi.
