Nairobi,Kenya – January 2024 – As is now an annual tradition, SAFCAM (Salesian Formation Centre Africa-Madagascar) has organised formation seminars for the new Rectors of Salesian communities in the Africa-Madagascar Region. The first session took place from 8 to 15 January, at the Don Bosco Youth Educational Services (DBYES) centre in Nairobi and was attended by nine English-speaking Rectors from the AFM Vice-Province and the AFE and ANN Provinces. Subsequently, from 19 to 26 January, the second session was held in the same venue, in which the Francophone Rectors of the Region participated. Eleven new Rectors from four Provinces and Vice-Provinces participated in this second meeting: AFC, AGL, ANG and MDG. The participants studied the Rectors Manual and other documents and shared their experiences, under the guidance of Fr Camiel Swertvagher and Gerald Umoh, respectively Director and Deputy Director of SAFCAM, who led both sessions.
