Fr Costa was awarded not only for his collaboration in the conception and realisation of the Videocatechism, but above all for his intense activity in the service of Catholic publishing.
The ceremony, sponsored by the 'Europe Commission' and organised by 'CrossinMedia', brought together, in a hall filled to capacity, several parliamentarians and representatives of various activities, and in particular representatives of different religions who participated in a debate on peace and religious movements.
After the greeting from Senator Lucio Malan, in a discussion moderated by journalist Luca Caruso, the following spoke: Father Gian Maria Polidoro (Assisi Pax), that is, the religious of Assisi who was a key player in the meeting between Regan and Gorbachev; Cenap Mustafa Aydin, Director of the "Tiber Institute - ProDialogue Center"; Francesca Petrucci, of the "Zen Center - L’Arco" Rome; the archimandrite Symeon Katsinas, Rector of the Greek Orthodox Church of San Teodoro; Alessandro Diotallevi, of the group for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue promoted by Mother Tekla; magistrate Davide Iori; and Luigi De Salvia, President of "Religions for Peace – Europe".
As part of this comparison, “The Creed” will also be screened, that is, one of the episodes that make up the Videocatechism of the Catholic Church, a multimedia and multilingual work composed of 46 episodes, of an average duration of 30 minutes each, for a total of about 30 hours. The work, shot in 70 countries around the world, edited by director Gjon Kolndrekaj, faithfully reproduces the full text of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, approved in 1992 by St John Paul II and divided into four parts.
It should be noted, finally, that Fr Costa award will receive anther award on 16 September in Naples, for his "Girovagando tra cronache ed eventi", as part of the 11th edition of the Cardinal Michele Giordano Award promoted by the Order of Journalists in Campania.
