Dominican Republic - Five new Salesian Cooperators
Moca, Dominican Republic - May 2021 - On Sunday, May 21, as part of the Novena to Mary Help of Christians, five new Salesian Salesian Cooperators (SSCCs) from the Dominican Republic made their vows, the DR being a nation that together with Puerto Rico and Cuba forms the Salesian Province of the Antilles. The Eucharist was celebrated at the Salesian parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the city of Moca, located about 200 kilometers from the city of Santo Domingo, and was presided over by Fr. José Pastor Ramírez, Salesian Provincial of the Antilles, who received the promises on behalf of the Rector Major, while for the Association the SSCC Provincial Coordinator Franklin Ortega received them. The ceremony was attended by families and friends of the professed, Salesian Cooperators and aspirants from other local Centers, and various members of the different branches of the Salesian Family. After the Eucharist, a festive moment was shared with all present, which was also used to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first promise of this Local Center.
