Vietnam - World Confederation of Don Bosco Past Pupils Presidency gathers in presence for first time since pandemic

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam - May 2023 - The Presidency of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, led by Maltese Bryan Magro, met for the first time in presence since the pandemic period at the Provincial House in Ho Chi Minh. During the meeting, the Regional Councilors offered their reports on the state of affairs in their various territories, giving advance notice to those present of the upcoming area meetings: June 13-14, in K'Long-Da Lat (Vietnam), for Asia-Oceania and Vietnam; June 22-25, in Turin, for Europe and the Middle East; and October 19-22, in Cordoba (Argentina) for the American Congress. Bryan Magro dwelt on the Confederation's strategic plan, internal and external communication, and the identification of various sector managers; in addition, the members of the presidency also addressed the topic of the Bylaws, with proposals and amendments in view of the next extraordinary assembly. "We discussed the importance that our organization must have in society, qualifying itself in social commitment and solidarity with a special eye to young people in need," said the Confederation President. "We have initiated a synodal path that will lead us to a fruitful discussion at the next extraordinary assembly." Taking part in the gathering were Bryan Magro, President; Salesian Br. Dominic Duc Nam Nguyen, World Delegate of the Salesians of Don Bosco; Edoardo Pessoa, Vice President and Delegate for the Americas; Peter Kovac, General Secretary; Keten Gala, Regional for Asia and Oceania; Valerio Martorana, Regional for Europe and the Middle East; Neil Evangelista, Young Pastor's person in charge of Asia and Oceania; and Joseph Ssemambo, Young Pastor's person in charge of Africa.
