(ANS - Rome) - After months of waiting and fervent preparations throughout the Salesian Family, yesterday, Oct. 9, 2022, Salesian coadjutor Artemide Zatti was proclaimed a saint; but the events organized to celebrate this historic moment - the canonization of the first non-martyr Salesian - are not over. In fact, the Rector Major invites the entire Congregation and the Salesian Family to celebrate a Eucharist of thanksgiving for the canonization of Br. Artemide Zatti on Tuesday, October 11, in every part of the world and at the most opportune times for individual contexts: it will be a way to thank God for this great gift as a global community. For his part, the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will preside over the Eucharistic Concelebration of Thanksgiving for the gift of Artemide Zatti's sainthood at the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians in Turin-Valdocco, which will be attended by Salesian brothers who have come from all over the world to Italy because of the canonization.
The celebration will take place at 6 p.m. local time (UTC+2) and is part of the program of the global pilgrimage of Salesian coadjutors on the steps of Don Bosco, in and around Rome, Turin, and Piedmont.
The Eucharist from Valdocco can be watched live, in the original language, on ANSChannel, the ANS YouTube channel, and on the ANS Facebook page.
