The President of the World Confederation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Mr Bryan Magro, when closing the training programme, thanked the trainers, the participants, and the organisers for this successful event. He expressed how during this week, he learnt more about "the potential of youth activities related to the sea and coast or the lake and its shores, can help young people with their healing process. This initiative highlighted the mission of past pupils and friends of Don Bosco, that is, to offer support to young people in the Salesian way."
Malta - Past Pupils organise Erasmus+ Training Course for Youth Workers
Malta – September 2022 - The Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco in Malta, hosted the partners of this project last week in Malta for a training course as part of one of our Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Sea and Coast, Lake and Shores - Dealing with Young People’s Loss, Anxiety and Stress. The training was attended by the partners in the project which include the Past Pupils from Italy and Slovakia, a Salesian Youth Centre from Ostende, Belgium, and the Salesian Brigade from Malta. During this week, the partners welcomed youth workers to develop further on the aim of the project, that of creating a tool-kit of activities related to the sea, coast, lakes and shores, to help young people experiencing loss, stress and anxiety. Such activities took place in a training room, whilst others took place round the coast or in different groups. All the group enjoyed co-working together and they all felt that it was a fruitful week. They are looking forward to sharing their experiences with other organisations in their country as well as developing a training course for youth workers.
