Avellaneda, Argentina - September 2022 - Every year the Argentine Episcopal Commission for Aid to the Neediest Regions carries out the National Fundraiser "Más por Menos," which this year has as its motto "By alleviating today's pain, we feed our hope." On this occasion, Avellaneda's "Racing Club" multi-sport club, faithful to the spirit of its patron "St. John Bosco" and the "Racing Solidario" motto of its Social Responsibility Department, joined the collection during the 19th National League game on Sept. 13. The initiative was launched by Fr. Juan Francisco Tomás, SDB, who pastorally accompanies the young soccer players of the various divisions and is a member of "Racing Solidario," and was welcomed by the leadership of the "Racing Club" after a discussion with Msgr. Marcelo Julián Margni, Bishop of Avellaneda-Lanús. The action was coordinated by Fr. Gastón Lovizio, a member of the Diocese of Avellaneda and contact person for "Racing Solidario," with 18 young volunteers from "Más por Menos," who placed themselves at various points in the stadium with clearly recognizable piggy banks finding great adherence among the fans.
