Recife, Brazil - June 2022 - On June 6 and 7, professional social workers from the Salesian Province of Recife met at the Provincial House. Present at the meeting were Fr. Francisco Inácio Vieira Júnior, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Recife (BRE), Fr. Robson Barros, Provincial Economer, Ms. Mirelly Silva, Executive Director of the Shared Services Center, and Rodrigo Dias, Executive Director of Schools. The first day’s meeting focused on discussing the Supplementary Law No. 187/2021 and its effects on the professional practice of social workers. During the second day, the Provincial Social Service Coordinator, Eliane Castro, explained the practices of the Provincial Social Service and its lines of action in the social and educational sectors of the Salesian Works.
