Papua New Guinea - Salesians celebrate World Salesian Mission Day
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - June 2022 - The Salesian Family of Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands Vice-Provinces (PGS) gathered at the "Emmaus" conference center in Port Moresby to celebrate World Salesian Mission Day last June 4. Opening the day's activities were students from Don Bosco Technical School. Following this, Fr. Ambrose Pereira gave a talk on the day's theme, inspired by Strenna 2022, "Do all through love, nothing through constraint," during which he also delved into the topic of "how to communicate Christ through social media." Finally, updates were given on missionary solidarity and the missionary project earmarked for Bolivia this year, and those present proposed numerous ideas on how to raise funds for the project. The day then ended, after a time of sharing and conviviality, with a blessing by the Provincial Vicar, Fr. Pedro Sachitula.
