Goma, D.R. Congo - April 2022 - Fr Guillermo Basañes, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Central Africa (AFC), arrived in Goma on April 12 to continue the canonical visit to the Salesian communities of the young "St. Joseph" AFC-EST Delegation. This second phase of the canonical visitation follows the one to the works "Boscolac" and "ITIG" last month. Upon his arrival, Fr Basañes was welcomed by Fr Aurélien Mukangwa, SDB, Provincial Delegate for AFC-EST, and Fr Jean-Pierre Muhima, SDB, Rector of the Salesian community of Ngangi and in charge of the Youth Ministry of the Delegation. The children, youth, and collaborators of the "Don Bosco Ngangi" work warmly welcomed the visiting Salesians. The pupils of the elementary school "Don Bosco Ngangi" accompanied them with slogans and songs and the boarding school’s youngsters danced with their host to the rhythm of local folklore. After listening to the words of welcome from the Salesians of "Don Bosco Ngangi", Fr Basañes said he was reassured that this welcome proves the love of the young people of Goma for Don Bosco.
