Vietnam - Formation program for trainee Salesians
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam - April 2022 - 20 Salesian trainees and 3 other missionaries ad gentes participated in a training program held at the Salesian Provincial House in Vietnam from April 5 to 8. The course was led by Fr Joseph Do Duc Dung, Provincial Delegate for Formation. On the morning of April 6, participants delved into the first topic presented by Fr Dominic Tran Quang Liem, Rector of the Phuoc Loc community, entitled "Salesian trainees, difficulties and challenges during the practical period of Salesian care". In the afternoon, they visited the Cau Bong pre-novitiate community and listened to the words of Rector Fr Joseph Doan Hai Dang on "Skills to accompany young people". On April 7, Fr Augustine Tran Do Phuc presented "Youth are the priority targets of love, care and pastoral education of Salesian trainees". Then the participants shared their specific apostolic experiences in their communities. Finally, on April 8, the Provincial Delegate for Formation presented the theme "St. Francis de Sales - the inspiration for Don Bosco's Preventive System." Afterwards, the participants commented on the content and organization of the formation course.
