Jaén, Spain - February 2022 - On February 25 in the Aula Magna of the University, the Delegation of the Andalusian Government presented the Flag of Andalusia to the Salesian presence in Jaén for its commitment to the promotion and full development of children, adolescents, and young people in situations of social inequality and for the 50 years of Salesian presence in the city. The Flag of Solidarity and Harmony was received by the Rector, Fr Juan Carlos Macías, SDB. Among the reasons for the award: "Through their work, they serve the needs of families and other groups in vulnerable situations: migrants, women, the unemployed or people with addictions, among others. It is a transformative organization of society, of the elements that generate inequalities and exclusion, and recognized for its ability to denounce these situations and defend social justice."
